Eternity in Our Hearts ~ Longing For Home

Have you ever longed for home? Have you ever been struck with the thought that you belong somewhere else? My very soul longs to be where we were made to be. Oh how I long to see with my eyes the fullness of my faith, to touch with my hands those things I have only imagined. It is a longing that is deep with in me. I can identify with Paul when he says in Phil 1  “…I desire to depart and be with Christ”.
Revelation 21: 1-4 "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

I long to see the completion of what God is doing. God is not just making us a new home, he is completing the work that our very soul longs to see completed! The essence of eternity is this … “after every Omega there is a new Alpha. Your end is another beginning.’ (Beth Moore).

I long to see all the things that are wrong be put right. Not just be punished or rewarded but be put right. That is what Christ promises… that every pain, every tear, every hurt, every frustration that we have felt here on this earth will be made right.  That is one amazing promise.

God has put eternity in our hearts. The truth is you were made for something bigger then what this world gives. You were made for eternity. You are made for perfection. You are made to be with the author and the creator of life. God is bringing all things full circle. What he began in the Garden of Eden he finishes in the book of Revelation and it's all a love story! It’s bringing us: you and me, his bride, his beloved creation, back to the Garden of Eden back to walking with him. Oh how I long to be home.

Blessings!
Kari

  3. Thank you for your honesty, and reminder about where our home REALLY is... It brings me such peace when I consider all the suffering, and hardship being exerienced here on earth... I am just a traveler... passing through... this earth is NOT my home

    God Bless.
